Privacy & cookies
What I collect, and what I don't.
This is my personal site. I keep tracking light and I don't sell or share your data. Here's the plain version.
Analytics
I run two analytics tools, and the difference matters.
Cloudflare Web Analytics runs on every page. It's cookieless and doesn't track you across sites or build a profile. It counts pageviews, rough location by country, where visits came from, and how fast pages load. There's nothing that identifies you, so it runs without needing your consent.
Google Analytics is switched off by default. It only starts once you accept it on the cookie banner. If you do, it sets cookies and gives me a fuller picture of how people use the site. If you decline, or just ignore the banner, it stays off and no analytics cookies are set. Google models some anonymous, aggregate data either way, but nothing tied to you.
Cookies
The only cookies this site sets are Google Analytics ones, and only after you accept them. Decline and there are none. Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage so you're not asked every visit.
Changed your mind? Use the button below to reset your choice. The banner will reappear so you can decide again.
The contact form
If you message me through the form, your name, email and message are sent to my private inbox so I can reply. That's it. I don't add you to a mailing list and I don't pass your details to anyone else.
The newsletter
If you subscribe, your email address is stored by Resend, the service I use to send emails, and used only to send you my essays. I won't pass it to anyone else or use it for anything else. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out any time.
Your rights and getting in touch
You can ask me what I hold about you, or ask me to delete it, any time. The honest answer is usually "not much". Reach me through the contact form or on LinkedIn.
